Mermaid Tail Blanket
I recently finished my first mermaid tail blanket. It wasn’t hard but just time consuming. I normally like to do projects I can finish quickly and see the results, which means I normally don’t do blankets of any kind. This was a customer request so I did it for her to give to her granddaughter. I love the colors and it turned out adorable.
If I could change anything I would of made the actual fin part larger, but I was using a pattern and didn’t really think about changing it until it was already attached and seem a bit small. I used 2 different patterns for this blanket. For the body of the blanket I used this pattern and for the fin part I used this pattern. These are both on Ravelry and if your not a Ravelry member you can easily sign up and be exposed to so many free and paid patterns. You can see my page here. I used the color “Grapefizz” by Red Heart Yarns for this blanket and I think it’s perfect for little girls.
Awareness Ribbon Hat
I made this hat because I like to spread awareness through my craft. If you have read any of my blog about my son you will know he has Hydrocephalus. This particular hat I made in purple just because I like purple. However, I plan to make it in blue to represent Hydrocephalus awareness. This hat can be worn to recognize any illness or diseases. This pattern was also found on Ravelry and you can find it here. This pattern was not really written well so another crafter also had some explanation on how to do it here.
Tunisian Headbands and Flowers
I had never made anything using the Tunisian style crochet but I had someone that wanted 4 headbands that looked like they were knitted. I found the Tunisian Knit Stitch on one of my favorite sites- Moogly! They have a great instruction video that is so simple to follow and you don’t have to buy any special hooks if you don’t want to. Just click here to watch the video and learn how to Tunisian Knit Stitch in a few minutes. I found it very simple to do and I loved the look of it being knitted. These photos also show a couple different flowers I added.
Valentine Heart Crochet Tote Bag
This bag was a free pattern that I found on Allfreecrochet.com. Here is the link. It features using 2 strands of yarn together making it very sturdy. I used this pattern for the puffy heart. I had the embellishments in my jewelry stash and thought by adding those it would bring a little something extra to the bag.
